The Playful Photographer: Creative Children's Portraits (Kellie Bieser)
Limited Capacity seats available

Learn how to interact with children so that you can create portraits that not only capture their faces, but also their unique personalities! In this program with Kellie Bieser, you will see Kellie demonstrate how she works with children and gain hands-on shooting experience. Kellie will cover topics such as how she chooses her camera settings, using light effectively, and poses that best reflect the personality of her young subjects.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn to feel comfortable talking with children and recognizing the opportune times to press the shutter button.
2. Learn to be confident in your camera settings when working with children and know why certain aspects of the exposure triangle need to be considered differently when working with little humans.
3. You will leave this program eager to embrace creative compositions and light, knowing that you can add character to your final product through image editing.
4. You will leave excited to create portraits of children that are beyond the standard "say cheese" portraits and instead capture true personality.
5. You will leave excited to market these types of portraits to your clients and to include them in your family sessions.

Join Nicole Everson for a maternity session in the golden hour. Learn about Nicole's approach to maternity photography using styled pregnant models. Nicole will share how she took the one part of her business that was making the smallest profit and pushed herself to make it a big money maker by making every mother a goddess.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how to pose and direct a pregnant woman.
2. Understand how to make your client feel comfortable and beautiful.
3. Understand how to bring out emotion in your images.

The Alamo:
This Golden Hour Shooting Experience will take place at the Alamo (just a short walk from the Marriott Rivercenter). Established in 1724 as Mission San Antonio de Valero – the first mission in San Antonio – the Alamo is known as the "Shrine of Texas Liberty" and is the number one tourist destination in Texas.

The Alamo has two distinct features— the buildings/walls and the lush greenery. Access to the buildings and walls is fairly easy from outside the Alamo itself or at several points inside the gates. The greenery provides full or partial coverage, allowing you to play with the amount of natural light as well as the direction. Even though you’ll be able to see other photographers due to the layout of the Alamo, you’ll find that creative use of the greenery can give a very private, or “Secret Garden,” feel to your images. There are several benches at a number of places within the walls. If you head outside the gates, you’ll find a bigger common area and more bright, unobstructed sunlight. The Alamo has been reserved for Click Away on this evening, so you won't have to work around public visitors if you plan to remain inside the gates near the Alamo gardens.
