Lensbaby Practice: Light of the Masters with a Modern Twist (Caroline Jensen)
Limited Capacity seats available

Caroline is sponsored by Lensbaby
http://www.lensbaby.com

Learn how to translate the gorgeous light of the Dutch Masters into emotive images enhanced with Lensbaby lenses. In this program with Caroline Jensen, you will practice this technique by photographing a female model while Caroline teaches you how to anticipate how Lensbaby lenses will distort light, how to use proper settings, and how to use elements such as fabric and motion to make the most of your Lensbaby images! This program is not a replacement for Caroline's much longer and more in-depth workshop "Shooting 215: Step by Step with Lensbaby" through Clickin Moms University. This 75-minute program is unique and will cover hands-on shooting with Caroline. Please bring your own Lensbaby lens and optics if possible.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how the classic lighting patterns of the Dutch Masters (Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Pieter de Hooch) work seamlessly with modern Lensbaby lenses.
2. Learn how to pair Lensbaby lenses with fabric, motion, and light to create unique imagery infused with emotion.
3. Practice shooting a model with guidance, including tips for choosing focal points and aperture, while maximizing the chance "happy accidents."
4. Learn to manage chaos by anticipating how lenses distort light and bokeh areas and how to minimize dizzying effects.

Creative Focus: Thinking Outside of the Box (Celeste Pavlik)
Limited Capacity seats available

Celeste is sponsored by Color Inc
http://www.colorincprolab.com/

Canon is the host of this Golden Hour Shooting Experience program.

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/home. Celeste uses a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 7D and Canon lenses including: 100mm f2.8; 85mm f1.8; 24-70L f2.8.

Expand the possibilities of the way you see through your lens! Join Celeste Pavlik in this Golden Hour Shooting Experience and learn how to incorporate Freelensing, Lensbaby, and/ or Macro work into your genre. Whether the subject is portraiture, landscape, architecture, or street, you will learn what to look for in a scene in order to create the most compelling composition. Celeste will also discuss light and it's impact on your shooting as well as how to set the shot before pressing the shutter. Engage in an open dialogue and conversation with Celeste as you walk around San Antonio while putting into practice one or more of these specialty lenses or techniques. Attendees are encouraged to bring a Lensbaby, Macro, and/or any prime lens between 40mm-85mm range for freelensing. In addition, a neck strap and either a tabletop tripod or tripod for camera stabilization is suggested.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss freelensing, macro, and Lensbaby photography with a strong emphasis on using light, form, and shadows.
2. Learn what freelensing is and discuss safety considerations.
3. Learn about Lensbaby lenses, how to manipulate your plane of focus, adjust settings, and how to use live view.
4. Learn about the macro lens, how to use manual focus, and optimal camera settings for macro photography.

This Golden Hour Shooting Experience will take place at La Villita Historic Arts Village (just a short walk from the Marriott Rivercenter). Located on the south bank of the San Antonio River, La Villita Historic Arts Village was one of San Antonio’s first neighborhoods. It was originally a settlement of primitive huts for the Spanish soldiers stationed at the Mission San Antonio de Valero (the Alamo). In 1939, as ground broke on the San Antonio River Walk development, city leaders acted to preserve this colorful part of San Antonio’s history.

Today La Villita is a thriving art community that houses several shops, galleries, and cafes with a wonderful ambiance in the evening. It also gives you great river access at one of the widest points of the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk. You’ll find several opportunities to capture color — many of the buildings have interesting walls/trim allowing for great framing opportunities and striking color palettes. You’ll likely have the feeling that you are in a small village with the tree- and shop-lined paths.

Creating Emotive Lensbaby Portraits Through Movement and Blur (Caroline Jensen)
Limited Capacity seats available

Caroline is sponsored by Lensbaby
http://www.lensbaby.com

Capturing moving subjects with manual focus can be difficult, but this Golden Hour Shooting Experience with Caroline Jensen will share simple techniques for strengthening both of these skills. Flowing fabric, wind, and movement will pair with structured shooting to create images that seem entirely spontaneous and elegant. This session will consist of a shooting demonstration with models and an interactive Q&A followed by a guided open shoot. This program is not a replacement for Caroline's much longer and more in-depth workshop "Shooting 215: Step by Step with Lensbaby" through Clickin Moms University. This 2-hour program is unique and will cover hands-on shooting with Caroline. Please bring your own Lensbaby lenses to this session.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn to create, control, and enhance the movement of hair and clothing.
2. Discover ways to make focusing on a moving subject easier when using a Lensbaby.
3. Learn to minimize the chaos of crazy bokeh and dizzying blur in an outdoor environment.

This Golden Hour Shooting Experience will take place at the Alamo (just a short walk from the Marriott Rivercenter). Established in 1724 as Mission San Antonio de Valero – the first mission in San Antonio – the Alamo is known as the "Shrine of Texas Liberty" and is the number one tourist destination in Texas.

The Alamo has two distinct features— the buildings/walls and the lush greenery. Access to the buildings and walls is fairly easy from outside the Alamo itself or at several points inside the gates. The greenery provides full or partial coverage, allowing you to play with the amount of natural light as well as the direction. Even though you’ll be able to see other photographers due to the layout of the Alamo, you’ll find that creative use of the greenery can give a very private, or “Secret Garden,” feel to your images. There are several benches at a number of places within the walls. If you head outside the gates, you’ll find a bigger common area and more bright, unobstructed sunlight. The Alamo has been reserved for Click Away on this evening, so you won't have to work around public visitors if you plan to remain inside the gates near the Alamo gardens.
