It is no coincidence that you were given the gift and calling to be a photographer. There are stories to share that only you know how to tell. So often, however, we become so bound by the expectations and experiences of others, that we forget why we came to art in the first place. This is where Michelle Gardella comes in. As a photographer and writer she is brave and unapologetically honest, and as a teacher, even more so. She stands for the preservation of truthful and meaningful photography, and devotes her creative journey to ensuring women's stories are not silenced; including her own. Passionate, funny, and most likely with references to early 90s rap songs, Michelle's program will serve to remind the modern day photographer what this is really all about, after all.
Learning Objectives: 1. Learn to use photography as metaphor. 2. Be attentive to the flow of inspiration in your own true story; learn to turn off the noise and comparisons. 3 Make real photographs with depth and meaning.
